For the past nineteen years of my life, I’ve been clinging onto these very sparse, very light hairs above my eyes which I can only assume were eyebrows.
Here’s a screenshot from a very old Thrifts and Prints post called “Eyebrows 101” for reference to my eyebrows.
My eyebrows and I have been on quite the journey. I used to get them waxed when I was a freshman in high school as if it mattered at all considering their shockingly light color compared to my naturally dark hair. Then I started watching YouTube videos and realized EYEBROWS can really change up a face.
At this time, I was heavily influenced by Audrey Hepburn, hence my avid attempts at the iconic Hepburn brows. Done right these brows look great…done wrong they…well…they’re tragic.
I’m pretty into impulse decisions. I cut my own hair and have been for years, I’ve bleached my hair (and eyebrows once), pierced my own ears, and went completely vegan over the course of one night. If I don’t think before I do things involving my appearance, I will pretty much do anything (speaking only of non-permanent stuff of course). So the other day I got out of the shower, looked at my eyebrows and just…shaved them off.
The thing about eyebrows is they grow back FAST, so shaving them off is one of the easiest impulse decisions you can make. Before you do, just make sure you have the right eyebrow products (I use Anastasia Dipbrow Pomade) and are comfortable with making up your eyebrow shapes.
The above picture is them draw on. I’m having fun playing with different shapes and colors. So stay tuned for an updated “Eyebrow 101” post!
In other news, I finally stopped giving a shit about everything and made Thrifts and Prints its own Instagram (something I was nervous to do in high school…idk why) . Give it a follow if you’re still using the slowly dying app 🙂 THRIFTS AND PRINTS ON IG
