As the New Year is quickly approaching I could not miss out on all the sequin opportunities that this post has to bring.
The look I created above is simple and has just the right amount of sparkle for my taste, but of course go big or go home. Even if 2015 was not your year you might as well send it off with a little shine.
This adorable sequin and velvet skirt I got on sale at H&M for only $20, which as we all know, is pretty cheap for an embellished piece. Also this garland is from the Spritz collection at Target, I’m sure you could make your own as well. The top I’m wearing is a simple ribbed crop top from Charlotte Russe. I apologize for the focus. My camera must have been on manual and I was shooting thinking it was in auto. Of course you can add any top you like, a black velvet one would go perfectly, or even layer your sequins and go for a black sequined top. My shoes are my favorite go to’s when I want to look more dressed up. These are from Soda and they too were only $20.
This clutch was actually free with a Sally’s Beauty purchase. As I’m more of a purse lover, I did not have anything like this in my closet. I’d probably only use this once, but who cares it was free! For makeup I used this adorable pallet from Sephora. The colors in this are pigmented and look at the packaging! I used Rooftop on my lid, Jazz club in my inner crease, Perfecto I used to create a triangle, cat eye shape on my outer crease, and lastly I used Pearl in my tear duct. The blush is called Pink Macaroon and I used that as well to finish off the look.
For lips I added my favorite lip liner in deep purple (I’m sorry I don’t know the brand name), you could also go for a classic red, or even play with nude shades if you can rock them.
Lastly, for my hair I added some sparkly bobby pins and twisted the tops of my hair. Go for some big messy curls or rock your natural ones. Sorry for not having a picture of my hair, yet again it was out of focus.
I hope everyone has a safe and happy new year! Make sure to check out my positivity post is you’re looking to make 2016 the happiest year of your life 🙂
